Parents and caretakers who are interested in enrolling their child at Patuxent Montessori School are asked to attend one of the "What is Montessori?" presentations to find out more about the Montessori approach.
Because the basic ideas and principles of the Montessori Method are very different from a traditional approach to education and learning, it is important for parents to understand these differences before enrolling their child. In order for a child to receive the optimum benefits from being in a Montessori school, the parents need to make a long-term commitment for their child to complete the Montessori program in its entirety. Parents also need to continue to learn about the Montessori principles, and to implement them at home.
